Aerodynamics are important, but they present different challenges to designers on a gravel bike than on a road bike because the speeds are lower. Factor focused its aerodynamic optimization of the Ostro Gravel on the front end, developing a proprietary head tube that positively affects the laminar separation bubble, a physical feature that occurs at lower face velocities and is known from aviation. In addition, there is the proven integrated aero cockpit, which, by the way, you can also get with hangers - especially helpful for really long Gravel Races.

Since the weight also plays a role in Gravel bikes: 950g for size 54! That says it all. And yet the bike has already proven itself in the most extreme conditions.

But ultimately it comes to a gravel bike mainly on the off-road capability. Up to 45mm wide tires in dimension 700C should meet all racing demands and still offer 4mm clearance to both sides - as it corresponds to the ISO standards. But just as important is the handling on rough ground. Fat tires affect caster, making the bike more sluggish. Factor has taken this into account in the development and developed an agile, but still very controllable on poor surfaces Gravel Bike. With ideal characteristics between 38 and 43mm tire width.
